Directions to Antrim Town Gym

NEWSAntrim Town Gym is located on the same campus as Antrim Elementary School and Great Brook Middle School. Address is 12 School Street, Antrim NH 03440

Coming from the North/East:
Take Route 202/9 to the second Hillsborough Exit. Proceed onto Route 202 east. At the stop sign in Antrim, where the TBird and Dunkin Donuts is on your left, turn Right onto Route 31. Take the first, ( and almost immediate) left, onto West Street. Take the second left onto School Street. Antrim Town Gym is the second building, entrance is on the side, facing Great Brook School. We ask that athletes bring gym shoes, and that spectators take care to clean their shoes before entering the gym, limiting their foot traffic to the bleacher area. Phone at the gym is 588-3121.

25th Annual Bow Invitational Basketball Tournament

NEWSNH area basketball teams are invited to participate in The Bow Athletic Club’s 25th Annual Invitational Basketball Tournament, which will be held February 19, 20, 21 and February 26, 27, 28, 2010. Friday night, Saturday & Sunday format both weekends. No games Monday- Thursday. Each team is guaranteed two games.

There are limited openings for 5th & 6th grade boys & girls teams, and 7th & 8th grade boys & girls teams. Deadline for payment is December 24, 2009. This tournament will fill quickly, so act today.

Team registration is $175.00. Contact Mike Celenza at (603)344-2621or celenzalaw@usa.net to determine if there is availability in your division.

St Pauls February Vacation Tournament

NEWSThe St. Paul’s Panthers, located in Franklin NH, are running at ¾ Girls Round Robin on Sunday, February 14, 2010, with the first game starting at Noontime and we would like everyone there by 11:30. This will be 10 foot hoops, 27.5 ball, no back court defense, and playing two 8 minute running time halves.

Then, beginning on Sunday February 21st, 2010, we will begin our February Vacation Tournament, and are looking for 7/8 Grade Boys B teams, 7/8 Grade Girls Teams, 5/6 Boys A Teams, 5/6 Boys B teams, and 5/6 Grade Girls.

I want to inform all the 18+ men in Weare that we play basketball every Sunday night from 6pm - 8pm. If you want get out and have fun for FREE then come out and join us. It cost you nothing to play. The games are friendly and good for a few laughs.

Thank you and we are playing this Sunday, 12/27 6pm.

20 Point Advisory Rule

NEWSAnonymous writes: The MBL Board and MBL Directors at our last meeting adopted an advisory applicable to the “A” division and a Mercy Rule applicable to the “B” division. Please read and share these with your coaches and officials.

20 Point Advisory Rule for “A” Division Only

When a team is up by 20 points they are to fall back into a zone defense. They are not to press either full or half court.

20 Point Mercy Rule for “B” Division Only

When a team is up by 20 points they are to fall back into a zone defense. They are not to press either full or half court.

The penalty for violation of this rule:
- First instance a warning will be given and recorded in the official Scorebook
- Second infraction results in a bench technical. The team with the ball gets two shots and the ball.
- Third infraction results in a bench technical and the coach is dismissed from the game (must leave the gym) and two additional games. The team with the ball gets two shots and the ball.

Suggested adjustment to offense:
- Increase passing
- No fast breaks
- Sit player who is the cause of the infraction
